Tobias started to learn about rocks and masonry in his childhood while growing up in rural nova scotia. His father owns a stone quarry in maple wood, NS and there was always work to be done; building and creating natural stone walls. After he had finished school he went to Magenwil Switzerland to further his education in stone by working in a quarry that specialized in restoring historical stone buildings. Tobias also created headstones, countertops, new stone construction, fountains and several other stone projects while working in the Switzerland quarry. He came back to Nova Scotia and started working in granite at his fathers quarry. One year later he undertook a bricklaying apprenticeship of 4 years to learn the masonry trade. He now has a red seal certification, and continues in the stone business. |
